Mistley Manor impresses local MP

Bernard Jenkin MP visited Mistley Manor on 21 April in order to see for himself the superb facilities at the new purpose-built Care Home for the elderly and sufferers of dementia. Respected local company, Stour Valley Care Group, runs Mistley Manor. The family-run company has four generations of experience in the care sector.

Mr. Jenkin talked to guests and staff and was impressed at the high standard of care that residents receive: the superbly appointed building and the fact that residents, both private and publicly funded, are paying no more than other care homes in the area. He visited the specialist dementia unit which is state of the art, with CCTV throughout the building, as the Care Quality Commission recommends.

Mistley Manor also offers recuperation and reablement services, allowing those who have left hospital, but are unable to live at home immediately, the chance to recover, without using a much needed hospital bed.

Mr. Jenkin has been Conservative MP for Harwich and North Essex since 2010 and is standing for re-election on May 7th.

Mike Volf, owner of Mistley Manor says:
“It was great to get such a positive feedback from our local MP. I think he realised what an asset this amazing new facility is for the people of his constituency. We put so much thought and effort into the design and concept of Mistley Manor and we are thrilled that everyone who visits – as a guest or a resident – is knocked out by what we have achieved here. Our criteria was to build a care home of a standard that we, as a modern, caring society, should be offering.”

Bernard Jenkin MP, said:
“I had heard a lot about Mistley Manor from people I have met in my local visits, and wanted to see for myself. It’s a great new enterprise for Mistley, providing not only much needed and extremely comfortable accommodation for our growing aged population, but it is also creating jobs for a large number of local people.”
