The historic coastal village of Mistley lies beside the Stour estuary in the Tendring district of northeast Essex. It is around 11 miles northeast of Colchester. Mistley has its own station which has direct services to Colchester, Harwich and London Liverpool Street.
Mistley Manor is within easy of the A12 both north to Suffolk and south to Colchester, the M25 and London.
Mistley is situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty being at the easternmost point of the Stour Valley.
The characteristic English landscape made famous worldwide by artists such as Constable and Gainsborough is still recognisable today. Charming villages such as Dedham and Flatford are within easy reach for an outing for afternoon tea.
