Remembrance Day
With due respect and sentiment all at Mistley Manor shared a small service during which we laid several wreaths of remembrance.
We are fortunate to have a number of people living here who remember only to vividly the sacrifice that was made – from those who were recounting being a child at school, or being at home or the shelter with Mother, detailing how frightened they were and the devastation that was caused – to those who served valiantly in the services. In listening to the stories today, we have a Major from the British Army, and Residents who served in the RAF, the Artillery, 2nd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment in the Falkland Islands conflict, a good few who were in the Navy and even one gentleman who worked on radar development. We also have a member of staff whom served in the infantry for 15 years recently.
It was a very emotional morning, where all, whether young or old, were filled with pride.
